University of Crete (UoC), Greece
The Plant Molecular Biology Laboratory at the University of Crete (UoC), jointly affiliated with the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB/FoRTH), has well-established expertise in viroid research and plant–pathogen interactions.
The laboratory focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of RNA silencing and their role in plant responses to viral and viroid infections, with the aim of advancing knowledge of plant defence mechanisms and their potential applications in crop protection.
Within the ViroiDoc project, the UoC team contributes its expertise in viroid biology, RNA silencing, and plant responses to viroid infection, supporting the development of innovative approaches for viroid management.
