The Instituto de Biología Celular y Molecular de Plantas (IBMCP) at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) brings together expertise in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and metabolomics to study plant–pathogen interactions, signalling pathways, and plant defence mechanisms.

The Signaling and Biotic Stress Response Laboratory focuses on understanding how plants perceive and respond to biotic stress, with particular emphasis on the molecular mechanisms underlying plant–pathogen interactions and defence responses. The laboratory combines multidisciplinary approaches to investigate signalling pathways and metabolic responses associated with plant resistance.

Within the ViroiDoc project, the UPV team contributes its expertise in plant defence, pathogen-induced signalling, and metabolomics, supporting the development of sustainable approaches to improve plant resistance and resilience to disease.
